Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in collaboration with Mustehkam Parlimaan organised a two-week orientation programme for the Young Parliamentary Associates (YPAs) from 23rd January to 3rd February, 2023 at PIPS campus, Islamabad. The programme was attended by 56 participants who were appointed through rigorous selection procedure and henceforth to be deputed across National Parliament and four Provincial legislatures of Pakistan.
The objective of the orientation was to acquaint the YPAs with Parliamentary proceedings. Nonetheless, the programme was designed to span over two weeks, encompassing the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Rules of Procedure, Committee Minutes & Report Writing, Legislative & Non-Legislative Business, and working of the Secretariats. Moreover, seasoned Secretariat leadership and Parliamentary experts were engaged to share their valued experiences and knowledge about the Legislative developments and Parliamentary procedures with the participants. The whole orientation programme witnessed firm resolve of participants demonstrated through relevant questions and thought provoking discussions to benefit from the experiences and Parliamentary developments in the country, so far.
The training concluded with the certificate distribution ceremony that took place on 3rd February, 2023 at Serena hotel, Islamabad. The ceremony was attended by the Senior Secretariat officers from the Provincial Assemblies, Team Leader Governance & Education (EU) Pakistan, Mr. Sven Ruesch, MuP and PIPS teams. The senior leadership and organizers present at the ceremony congratulated the participants and wished them success.
